Congrats to Nikita for winning best Oral presentation at the 2nd annual Arizona RNA Salon Symposium, held on May 14th at the Biomedical Sciences Partnership Building in Phoenix. You did us proud!
Congrats to Nichole on her recent Galileo Scholarship – well deserved!
A warm welcome to Aaron – our 4th graduate student (we’re getting big!)
Guangbo’s work on an intriguing new role for Endocytic function in facilitating clearance of TDP-43 aggregates, which are implicated in ALS pathology, is now published. Thanks to our collaborators including several members of the Zarnescu Lab (Alyssa Coyne, Spencer Vaughn, Mathew Chaung) and Fen Pei of the Serio lab.
A warm welcome to Eman Basha, who brings her Biochemical Expertise to our lab as an Assistant Research Scientist!
A warm welcome to Keith Aspinall, who joins the lab as our 3rd graduate student!
Guangbo and Clayton, together with expert help from Matt Kaplan, have published a technical protocol paper in PLOS One. The paper describes a high-throughput robotic method that allows yeast researchers to transform and genetically modify > 1000 yeast strains in a day. Congrats Guangbo and Clayton!
Guangbo has published a review in the International Journal of Molecular Sciences, entitled “Role of Autophagy and Apoptosis in Non-Small-Cell Lung Cancer”. Well done Guangbo!
Our first “proper” paper is out in RNA – “Defects in THO/TREX-2 function cause accumulation of novel cytoplasmic mRNP granules that can be cleared by autophagy”. Well done Nichole, Guangbo and Kaitlyn!
