The Bolger Laboratory

Dept. of Molecular & Cellular Biology

The Bolger laboratory studies mRNA-protein dynamics in post-transcriptional gene expression. We focus primarily on the function and regulation of a family of RNA helicases and RNP remodeling enzymes termed the DEAD-box proteins. We employ genetic, biochemical, and cell biology techniques, primarily utilizing budding yeast as a model organism. Our research has implications for the understanding of cancer and other diseases as well.

Our lab is in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology in the College of Sciences at the University of Arizona, and it is located on the 4th floor of the Life Sciences South Building.
